Are you passionate about supporting people to take their next step in education and career development? UCOL is seeking a professional, learner-focused Student Enrolment Advisor to join our team on a part-time (0.5 FTE) basis at our Palmerston North campus.
About the role
As a Student Enrolment Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for prospective learners, providing accurate and timely information about UCOL programmes and vocational pathways. Using effective listening, probing, and questioning techniques, you will guide future ākonga from initial enquiry through to application and enrolment, ensuring a positive and supportive experience that reflects UCOL’s Ākonga First philosophy.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to enquiries using effective sales and customer engagement techniques to promote UCOL programmes and career pathways
- Provide accurate, up-to-date course and programme information to support informed learner decision-making
- Guide prospective learners through the enquiry and application process, supporting enquiries to become applications
- Promote and support UCOL’s online application process and follow up on incomplete or partial applications
- Capture and maintain enquiry and learner information in ARION and other required databases
- Deliver professional, friendly, and responsive service to learners, staff, and public stakeholders
- Provide face-to-face service through Welcome Desk and Contact Centre coverage as required
- Ensure all interactions meet UCOL’s standards of excellence in customer service and professionalism
About you
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a learner-centred approach
- Experience in customer service, sales, contact centre, or advisory roles (education sector experience is an advantage)
- High attention to detail and confidence working with data and information systems
- Ability to manage multiple enquiries while remaining professional, courteous, and timely
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and learner success

Skills & Experience
Diploma Level 5 Business-related tertiary qualification, or similar
2 years' experience working in customer service, sales, or marketing role
Experience in advocating and leading the inclusion and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi practices in a workplace setting is required
Ability to support and advocate the use of te reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori in the workplace
Ability to support and advocate approaches that promote equity and prioritise the needs of priority groups
