Can you assemble quantity surveying documentation relevant to specialist and specific trade sections, measure quantities and prepare a schedule of quantities for small and medium building projects of an individual trade section including services? 

As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring students and communities to succeed UCOL’s is seeking a highly motivated lecturer, or suitably qualified quantity surveyor to deliver within our NZ Diploma in Construction Level 6 programme.

This is a fixed-term (ends 31 Jan 2025), full-time position (40 hours per week). The ideal candidate will be a qualified Quantity Surveyor or have experience working in a quantity surveying firm; or teaching experience in quantity surveying with a minimum three (3) years current industry experience. 

This position, based at our Manawatū Campus in Palmerston North will require you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring, motivating and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport and communication skills will be required. As well as working with a dynamic team you will have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager with all delivery resources and practical assessments fully developed.

Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and will be required to complete New Zealand Police Vetting as part of the Children's Act 2014.

Skills & Experience

 - Relevant tertiary qualification

· Experience delivering at the tertiary level and/or relevant industry experience (minimum 3 years).

While not essential, an Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education and/or unit 4098 workbased assessor (or be working toward these).
