If you have an interest in supporting students to enter the electrical industry, UCOL’s Whanganui Campus has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and passionate Electrical Lecturer for a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will have industry current skills and knowledge, a minimum of NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering Level 4 or equivalent in the Electrotechnology field, and, must be registered with EWRB (the Electrical Workers Registration Board).

You will be delivering the NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade Level 3 and UCOL’s U-Skills Electrical Engineering Level 2.

This position, based in Whanganui, will require you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring and motivating students, and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport and communication skills will be required. All delivery resources and assessments are fully prepared and as well as working with a dynamic team you will have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager.

Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and will be required to undergo pre-employment checks; including completing New Zealand Police Vetting as part of the Children's Act 2014 for this safety sensitive role. 

Skills & Experience

  

· Minimum of NZCE Level 4 or equivalent in the Electrotechnology field

· Must be registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB). 

· Experience in delivering to NZQA requirements

· An Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education and/or unit 4098 workbased assessor or be working toward these

· Experience delivering at the tertiary level and/or extensive experience industry, including training apprentices.
