Lecturer - ICT
About the role
UCOL's Faculty of Information and Communication Technology have a permanent full-time position available for a motivated, innovative and passionate Lecturer to teach across the ICT portfolio. The role will be teaching on the Bachelor of ICT (and related programmes, including the new Master of IT programme, subject to accreditation).
The successful candidate will be teaching on the Manawatu Campus. UCOL has strong connections to industry, and is keen to employ someone who is able to build upon these to deliver quality learning experiences for students. As a member of the ICT team you will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them robust, stimulating and challenging learning experiences, and by mentoring and inspiring them to achieve.
The key technical skills and areas of specialist teaching on the programme include
o Software Development
o Cybersecurity
o Networking
o IT Management
o Systems Analysis
o Data Management
The successful applicant may be required to teach in other areas relevant to their qualification and experience. Classes are taught through blended delivery mode which means the successful applicant will need to be confident with the creation and delivery of a range of different teaching resources within a face-to-face and an online environment.
Qualifications
The successful applicant should have a post graduate qualification within a related field, ideally at doctorate level, with relevant industry experience being an advantage. An adult teaching qualification (e.g. NZCATT) or the willingness to complete this qualification is essential. Research will be a key component of this role and the successful applicant will be supported in pursuing their research goals.

UCOL Te Pūkenga is a government-funded Institute of Technology, with four campuses in Manawatu, Whanganui, Wairarapa and Horowhenua.
