We’re on the hunt for an industry specialist to bring their passion for the Automotive Industry and be part of transforming lives through education, preparing our students for a career in the industry and providing value to our region.
If discussing the components of volume measurement, drivelines, starting a charging system moves you then we have a role for you where you can talk and demonstrate about these topics and more.
This position, based at our Wairarapa Campus in Masterton, will require you to be passionate about getting your hands dirty, enjoy facilitating one on one learning, thrive off mentoring and motivating students, leading workshops and working with students individually and as a group, so your well-tuned rapport building and communication skills will be vital.
This is a permanent part-time position ( 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday). The successful candidate will need a minimum of a relevant industry qualification (National or New Zealand Certificate at Level 4) or equivalent with a broad industry experience. Proven involvement in teaching at a tertiary level or within an industry environment would be a strong advantage.
As well as working within a dynamic team you will have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager in gaining the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (NZCALNE), the NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCAT) and Unit 4098 Work Based Assessor if you don’t already hold these qualifications, as well as other professional development opportunities.

We aim for a “can-do!” attitude where we help one another and UCOL. For that reason, you will need to be open to reasonable changes in your duties and responsibilities, as we adapt to change and keep striving to deliver all that we can for our students.
